Africa Challenge 2017 Award Ceremony
Hosted by the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies, the African Challenge Business Model Competition 2017 was concluded on Monday, 30 October 2017, with the Award Ceremony at Mandarin Orchard. Distinguished guests at the Ceremony includes His Excellency Guillaume Kavaruganda – High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda, His Excellency Ogbole Amedu Ode – High Commissioner of Nigeria, Mrs Zainab Zakaria-Awami – Head of Chancery of the Nigerian High Commission, Mr Shabbir Hassanbhai – Chairman of the African Business Group of SBF and the chairman of the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies, and Mr Venkataramani Srivathsan – Managing Director Africa and the Middle East for Olam International.
8 teams of Singapore undergraduate students that made it to the finals were invited to the Ceremony, of whom 3 teams emerged as the winning teams with their proposals based in South Africa, Nigeria and Rwanda respectively. The High Commission is proud to note that Alliance Consulting team, who came up with a business proposal for terrace farming in Rwanda, won 2nd runner up at this competition. Our heartiest congratulations to Alliance Consulting, which consisted of members Jaylen Li, Darren Ong and Chin Zhao Yuan.
