On 17 March 2018, the Mustard Seed Institute was at the Rotary Presidential Peacebuilding Conference 2018 in Sydney, Australia.

Rwandan Jean Nepo Sibomana is the Institute’s co-founder and director. As one of the speakers at the Conference, Nepo gave a presentation on the empowerment of rural communities for reconciliation and sustainable peace through socio-economic development initiatives in post-genocide Rwanda.

Agaseke baskets made by local women entrepreneurs were flown in from Rwanda, and were proudly displayed at Mustard Seed Institute’s booth during the event.  The Agaseke baskets, the proceeds of which goes towards providing a sustainable and consistent source of income for local craftswomen and their families, have garnered substantial interest and was popularly received by the Conference participants.
